Notes from the Principal:
PAY ON LINE - Lunch Balances ... SPSD now offers a means to pay lunch balances on line. Click here for instruction to pay for your child's lunch electronically.  Balance notifications should be arriving in totes on Wednesdays if there is a balance due.  In the meantime, if you would like to know your child's balance you can email Jane Afthim at afthimja@spsd.org.
iPods, iPhones, Nintendo, etc. ...I have asked students to please not bring toys and electronic devices to school.  The handbook has always discouraged bringing such items to school to ensure that instruction is not disrupted.  This fall some students asked to use devices during indoor recess or bus recesses.  Unfortunately this has become an issue and it has become necessary to be more direct in prohibiting the use of these items at school.  Kindles, Nooks, and similar devices are allowed with the caveat that these expensive items are not supervised by adults.
Absences/Tardies ... As you may recall, we do monthly checks of student absences and tardies.  Students who have met or exceeded 5 absences and/or 7 tardies, for any reason, even excused, receive a letter.  In addition, if there has been additional absences or tardies letters are sent to families as a reminder.  If you are having difficulties or health concerns please feel free to contact us.
